Hidden within the inner courtyard of a seemingly ordinary hotel is a 150-metre enclosed waterslide, winding between the walls. Pale grey tubes suspended on metal supports and surrounded by rows of identical windows. There are no colourful decorations or tropical surroundings to suggest a water park. Instead, the slide occupies a stark, almost institutional courtyard, looking more like an elaborate piece of industrial machinery than something designed for recreation.
The waterslide is part of the Hotel Europäischer Hof’s SPAHH wellness complex. Its unusual placement creates an unexpectedly surreal sight in an otherwise conventional hotel.
