Tucked inside a pediatric dental practice in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a waiting room that looks more like a children’s television set than a medical facility. The original image, captured in a Yelp photograph from 2013, the interior has a distinctly nostalgic quality. The ‘sky’ ceiling, hand-painted apple tree, brightly colored chairs, and wooden trim create a curious mixture of rural theming and early-2000s commercial design. Everything is carefully arranged to make the experience of visiting the dentist feel less intimidating for young patients; and appears more like a play centre we can all somehow, weirdly, remember playing in at some point of our childhood.
It appears the premises had been remodelled, judging by the Office Tour on the dentists official website; but still retains it’s bold colors, and nostalgic kidcore essence. This would be a really cool dentists office to take your kids to, instead of some grey, millennial hell.
